Manage that Stress

Hi Athletes!

 We are now in Week 3 of the QuaranTEAM and you may be feeling some anxiety or uncertainty about the future. I’ve attached a short video of 5 things you can do to help with those anxious feelings.

The good news is that you can work on 3 of the 5 just by staying connected to the gym and your CFM Family!

1) Routine. When schools closed for our kids, we gave them one day to mourn and then we got started on a routine. We start each day by waking up and getting a workout in together. This amps up those Happy Hormones for the rest of the day. I won’t bore you with the details of our entire routine but I can say that having a schedule and being consistent has made a big difference for our family!

2) Stay Socially Connected. Although we want to stay physically distant during this time, we don’t want to stay socially distant.

I know the idea of attending a Zoom class may seem awkward at first but there’s a big benefit to hopping on a Zoom and seeing and sweating with your fellow athletes. I challenge you to try a Zoom class if you haven’t tried one already.  We currently offer Zoom classes M-F at 9:15am and T/TH at 6pm. Also watch for Zoom Happy Hours, where we’ll just get on-line and have some laughs 🤭.

3) Set Goals. Let’s face it, we have a lot more time on our hands right now. Why not use this as an OPPORTUNITY to establish a new goal.

My 13 year old was struggling because so many things she was looking forward to have been cancelled. She was supposed to be in a play and to sing at Disney. Those are things we can’t control so instead we brainstormed about things that she could do with the down time. She picked learning to play guitar! So we’re buying a starter guitar and getting some online lessons.

Think of something you’ve always wanted to do but didn’t have time for.  If you’ve got gym goals, we’re here to help!  The great thing about CrossFit is there always is a skill that you can improve on. Just PM us with your goal and we’ll set you up on a plan to succeed!
